About

Ros Writes is the personal writing space of historian and museum specialist Dr Roslyn (Ros) Russell. Here, history, heritage, travel and literature intersect, drawing on decades of research, curatorial practice and international engagement in museums and documentary heritage.

Based in Canberra, Ros is Director of Roslyn Russell Museum Services and Chair of the UNESCO Australian Memory of the World Committee. She is also Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Intangible Heritage (IJIH) and a member of the Editorial Committee of the International Journal of Documentary Heritage (IJoDH).

Through essays, articles and reflections, Ros Writes explores how stories are preserved, interpreted and carried across time, from Australian archives to Caribbean museums, and from nineteenth-century travel writing to the enduring narratives that shape our cultural memory.
